ROUTINE
APPOINTMENTS - GP AND
PRACTICE NURSES |
Appointments can be
made with the GPs and Practice
Nurses by telephone, in person or on
the internet. We aim to offer you a
ten-minute doctor appointment within
two working days.
Please arrive in good
time and book in at reception. If
you cannot attend for your
appointment, please let us know as
soon as possible in order that your
appointment can be offered to
another patient. On occasions,
surgeries can run late because
earlier consultations have taken
longer than normal or your doctor
has been called out to an emergency.
We ask for your understanding and
patience at such times.
Book appointments online
»»
In order to book
appointments online you must have
previously obtained the necessary
access codes. Please ask at
reception for details.
If you phone the
surgery for a same-day appointment,
you may be referred to the Duty
Doctor who will phone you back and
assess your problem and then direct
you to the most appropriate route.
This may mean a same-day appointment
with the GP, a more routine
appointment with a GP, practice
nurse or health visitor, or
telephone advice. In the afternoon
you may be telephoned by one
of our practice nurses.
During
office hours, telephone
reception on 01865 777495.
Please give clear details
about the emergency, the
name of the patient, address
and telephone number. The
duty doctor will be
contacted immediately and
will then decide the
appropriate course of action
and inform you of this.
We also
offer telephone appointments
with the GPs and Practice
Nurses which can be booked with the
receptionist in the normal
way. You may find these
useful if you wish to
discuss test results or
other follow-up or admin
matters or if you wish to
seek health advice. The
receptionist will book a
convenient time with you,
take your contact number and
the doctor or nurse will
ring you back within 1 hour of your allotted
time. |
