The practice has 2 practice nurses – Vivien and Kylie, and a health care assistant, Jacqueline.

Kylie Urwin, Vivien Gardner and Jacqueline Wright

They all work a variety of different days and times but there is always a nurse available from 8.50am to 5.50pm.  The practice nurses are highly trained and skilled in a number of areas and can give advice and help with many different problems.  These are some of the areas they can help with:

  • Advice on minor illnesses and minor injury
  • Holiday advice and vaccinations
  • Cervical smears
  • Dressings
  • Family Planning
  • Injections
  • Wart clinics
  • Asthma, diabetic and hypertension checks
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Smoking cessation
  • Health checks
  • Help with diet, weight and exercise
  • Fasting blood tests and ECGs
  • Baby immunisations
  • Removal of stitches and staples
  • Ear syringing

Appointments are available with the practice nurses in person or by telephone.  When you make an appointment to see a practice nurse, the receptionist may ask you what it is for.  The reason for this is so they can make sure you get an appointment with the most appropriate nurse and for the correct length of time.
